Dean joined the Monette team on April 1st 2015 when the Amberfield farm operation at Stewart Valley came under the Monette banner. Prior to coming onboard, he had worked with Amberfield farms since 2003. Dean began as an operator and has served in other capacities such as yard man, mechanic, supervisor and finally Systems and Logistics Manager. He currently serves Monette farms out of the north office at Stewart Valley. Having worked on the family farm, Dean has experience in many areas of farming including grain, irrigation, cattle and hog production. As well, he has experience in seed cleaning and seed treating having attained his Commercial Seed Treating Applicators License. In 1987 Dean received his Diploma in Ag Mechanics from Kelsey Institute of Applied Arts and Sciences. He has completed various leadership courses including Dale Carnegie Management and Communications as well as Project Management. He continues to raise hogs and operate a meat shop from his farm. He has been happily married to his first sweetheart, Faye, since 1990 and together they have 4 children. He serves on the local school council and is currently the treasurer at their church in Swift Current. Dean is an avid WHL fan who loves to cheer on the Broncos and he finds it especially enjoyable to see the rival Regina Pats go down to defeat. He also hopes to see his Edmonton Oilers and Saskatchewan Roughriders win championships again someday.
